Materials and Heat Treatment
Application Performance
The key to the long life of Alpha ball screws is both material selection and heat treatment. The ball nuts are case hardened to a minimum of Rc 60 to an effective case depth below the maximum shear stress. The screws are selectively induction hardened to Rc 56 minimum.
Internal Ball Return
Robust Design Features
Alpha's internal ball returns are designed for durability and speed. The returns are through-hardened steel and captured inside the ball nut eliminating common failure modes of other designs.
